When should I switch from solvent-based PU to water-based PU adhesive?
Switch when (a) you ship to markets with VOC-emission caps (EU REACH, California CARB), (b) your factory air-quality monitoring is becoming a constraint, or (c) you want to eliminate flammability classification for storage/shipping. Modern water-based PU like Marichemix 611H gives heat-resistance and yellowing performance close to solvent grades for most footwear and lamination uses. The trade-offs are slightly longer drying time and the need for a hardener (e.g. R768) on some substrates.
